Veterans become Masters!
Veterans football goes from strength to strength in the county.
To support the next evolution, Kent FA is delighted to announce the creation of the first county-wide 45 years old and over master’s division starting in September 2023.
This will be hosted by the Len Martin Thanet League. Recruitment is now open for teams to play in this 11-a-side competition.
The League hopes to kick off with two divisions split geographically across the county. East and West Kent Divisions will initially be created to group together teams to play each other over the season.
The aspiration is to have one game monthly from September to May, and all clubs will be affiliated with the Kent FA.
If Clubs would like to learn more about taking part in this new opportunity or you are a player who is 45 years old and over who is looking to join a master’s team, please get in touch with Development@KentFA.com
“As the County FA, we support the creation of new opportunities to play affiliated football. So, when we were approached by those who are starting this up, we were glad to be able to help from the start. Veteran’s football is the strongest area of growth in the adult game, and we are very excited to see how this continues” - Jack Jacobs, Senior Football Development Officer.
“We are delighted to support the development of master’s football and look forward to seeing how this develops over the coming months. Growing football participation and allowing everyone to play the game is a key objective for the Kent FA. We have seen significant growth in veterans’ football across the county in recent years, and the development of master’s football (over 45s) is the next step in this growth.” – Darryl Haden, Kent FA Chief Executive Officer.
