Explore some of Kent football’s inspirational stories with the Kent Football Show
The growth of Aylesford Football Club, an initiative to encourage females into coaching and a peek at one club’s sparkling new kitchen are among the highlights of this month’s edition of the Kent Football Show.
Kent FA’s award-winning online television show celebrates the positive stories and inspiring people behind football in the county, and episode five will be available to watch from 2pm on Thursday, 30 January.
The show is brought to you from Aylesford FC, where Chairman James Fuller speaks to Kent Football Show host Kweku Afari about the club’s transition from two to three-star accreditation, their new disability section and their ambitions for a new clubhouse to support their 3G pitch.
The skills and tricks of the talented walking footballers from Bromley Belles Women and Canterbury Eagles are showcased, as their players discuss the rewards they gain from playing in Kent’s Women’s Walking Football League.
Iwade Herons successfully applied for funding from Howdens’ Game Changer Programme after reading about the opportunity on Kent FA’s social media channels, enabling them to fit a much-needed kitchen.
Aidan Ainsley, Kent FA’s Facilities and Investment Lead, visits the kitchen to see how the additional storage, extra worktop space and new facilities are benefitting the club’s 200 players and the local community.
Over at Faversham Strikeforce, Lee Suter describes how the club’s new This Mum Can project is aiming to break down barriers preventing females from taking up coaching, by providing peer support, showcasing existing female coaches as role models and offering mentoring and training opportunities.
Meanwhile, Sevenoaks Town goalkeeper Jordan Perrin talks to Kewku about how he has built up 134,000 followers on TikTok by sharing content of himself from matches and training.
He initially put a camera in goal to review his own game and learn where he could improve, then started uploading the videos onto his YouTube, TikTok and Instagram channels two years ago to inspire and educate other goalkeepers.
Also in the episode:
- Shrimpos FC talk about their charity work and the special reason behind why their team was created
- Kings Hill FC Walking Football Team take on the Ultimate Shooting Challenge
- Nick Dunn continues to test viewers’ understanding of the laws of the game
- And volunteers from football clubs across Kent football clubs are recognised and thanked for their incredible work
