The first of 25 county cup finals this season started with a bang as Danson Sports and Total Football Development shared five goals in the Kent Merit Under-13 boys plate final.

Both sides deserved plenty of plaudits for their attacking play in a final which could have gone either way.
Ashford-based Total Football led on 16 minutes when Kal Onwuchekwa scored, only for Archie Ballard to equalise before the half-hour.

Danson went ahead for the first time through a sublime Archie Munday finish two minutes before half-time, a scoreline that was particularly harsh on Total Football’s excellent keeper Archie Jenner.

Total Football levelled the scores on 53 minutes, Kaden Berry scoring from close range moments after his right-foot effort had been turned behind by keeper Charlie Innes.

But Danson had the last word when excellent play by Henry Donovan saw him round keeper Jenner and square for Ballard to convert into an empty net with 11 minutes left.
